I opened my mailbox and was THRILLED to receive a mickey mouse themed wedding invitation! My childhood friend, Kristen and her fiancé Ryan were getting hitched in Orlando, Florida at the beautiful Grand Floridian Resort.
The destination wedding took place over New Year’s weekend. Here is a look at the festivities leading up to the wedding:
When we arrived at the Grand Flordian Resort, we were welcomed with this hotel welcome bag! Homemade chocolate chip cookies, lots of snacks, water, ponchos and (my favorite) a homemade booklet filled with custom games, fun facts about the couple and pictures of them from past Disney trips. Everything was of course mickey themed!
Every night, the Grand Flordian left chocolate on our pillow with a sweet dreams wish.
The rehearsal dinner was at the Living Seas, Coral Reef Restaurant in Ebcot. We took a private bus through the back entrance of the theme park – not many people ever see the back of Ebcot!
The rehearsal room was gorgeous. Floor to ceiling aquarium – one of the largest in the world!
I didn’t want to stop eating the food! The couple added their personal touch by naming each food item after family member’s hometown!
The rehearsal dinner cake looked just like the Disney Castle made out of sand…
and topped with a scuba diving Mickey Mouse! With a rehearsal dinner cake this gorgeous, I wonder just how beautiful the wedding cake will be tomorrow.
Have you ever seen a mouse scuba diving? Well, I have! Mickey congratulated the almost-married couple with a sign which he held as he swam in the huge, glass aquarium.
Live Caribbean music topped off the rehearsal dinner night and got everyone in the mood for some I do’s, dancing, drinks and disney! My post on the Truly Magical Wedding in Disney coming soon!
